JustJohn.'s project "Black Father's Day" is otw

Following a placement opportunity on Comedy Central, Atlanta based guitarist and hip hop artist JustJohn. has decided to release his recent creative compilation titled “Black Father’s Day” on February 20th.

After finding out his girlfriend at the time was pregnant JustJohn. moved to Atlanta unsure how to show up for his family. What the young artist did know is that he was determined to figure it out.

From couch surfing, to moving in with a group of guys that would soon become his band members, to finally purchasing his own home in 2020 - JustJohn.’s journey has been one of consistent growth despite adversity.

In the year of 2018 JustJohn.’s son received an x-ray which revealed a tumor near his growing spine. Upon that terrifying discovery the family spent months at a time in and out of the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta.

Finally near the beginning of 2020, there was light at the end of the tunnel. After numerous surgeries, medical consultations, and hospital visits JustJohn.’s son recovered with no signs of further concern.

In response to that extremely difficult experience JustJohn. created “Black Father’s Day”. A therapeutic collection of songs that tell the story of a young black father doing his best despite seemingly unfortunate circumstances.
